Story & Purpose
Following the suicide of her partner, Thea must go through several stages of grief in hopes of seeing her love again. Using dance to cope with the pain, Thea escapes to a world of color, revealing each stage of her grieving process.
This project has truly kickstarted my love for filmmaking, as it has shown me the effects a film can have on an audience. Finding inspiration from the song "I Took A Ride" by Caroline Rose, I began picturing the short film, giving myself the chills as I overflowed with excitement and motivation to make this idea a reality. Directing an all-female cast and crew allowed me to connect and collaborate with like-minded individuals who saw my vision and shared the same motivation to make the film come to life.
The overall purpose of this project is to shine a light on how grief differs for all, as well as the importance of expressing deep and sometimes painful emotions. Expressing feeling through dance and movement, the protagonist's loss is felt in deeper, more visual ways.
